We Now Return To Our Regularly Scheduled Riddle

Ok, looks like everyone is stuck, here is a hint:
Hypocrite = Judas

Of no use to one
Yet absolute bliss to two.
The small boy gets it for nothing.
The young man has to lie for it.
The old man has to buy it.
The baby's right,
The lover's privilege,
The hypocrite's mask.
To the young girl, faith;
To the married woman, hope;
To the old maid, charity.

What am I?

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

January 26 begins the year 4707 in the Chinese calendar.

It's the year of the ox. I'm an ox. Therefore, it's MY year.

If you were born in one of these years, you too are an Ox, and I'll share my year with you: 1901, 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009

The new year promises growth, stability and accomplishment.

Here is some more information I found:

Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's personality.

Those born in ox years tend to be painters, engineers, and architects. They are stable, fearless, obstinate, hard-working and friendly. Jack Nicholson, Jane Fonda, Walt Disney, and Anthony Hopkins were all born in the year of the ox.

Concert Review

Tuesday night Kathy and I saw the musical group THE KILLERS in concert at the UIC Pavillion, Chicago.

It was the first time either of us had seen them live. Their CD's are very good and they did not disappoint, as their studio quality tunes successfully made their way to the stage. The concert was very high energy and the sold out crowd was very receptive to the performance.

They played 20 songs, 9 from their new CD and 11 older, more familiar tunes which the audience enjoying singing along with. The only downer was the encore that began with a couple of lackluster songs, but they ended on a high note with their hit "When You Were Young" and left the crowd wanting more.

It was well worth the time and effort dealing the after work drive and post concert traffic on a "school night". The Killers are a definite must see for me when their next tour comes around.

A Slightly Different Kind Of A Riddle

Brad stared through the dirty soot-smeared window on the 22nd floor of the office tower. Overcome with depression he slid the window open and jumped through it. It was a sheer drop outside the building to the ground. Miraculously after he landed he was completely unhurt. Since there was nothing to cushion his fall or slow his descent, how could he have survived the fall?

Some Holiday Pictures

Christmas day at Kathy's. What a pretty tree.

Gathering around the food.

Getting anxious to open presents.

Nephew J and his buddy Buzz.

Newphew D looking good.

Newphew A with a big smile.

Niece K chillin'

Nice E looking mellow.

First taste of a Snickerdoodle.

Look who found the hidden pickle!

New Years Eve was full of tournanments. Niece E beat her Dad in the finals of Pinball...

...and won Air Hockey.

Uncle Mike teaches K the finer points of making the perfect punch.

Kathy and kiddies hanging out.

Who Will Answer the First Riddle of the Year?

They have not flesh, nor feathers,
nor scales, nor bone.
Yet they have fingers and thumbs of their own.
What are they?

A Thought for the Day

Fear less, hope more;
eat less, chew more;

whine less, breathe more,
talk less, say more;

love more,
and all good things will be yours.
